the first movie i ever rated 5 stars! why?

b4 watching it, i saw the trailer n making, it didn really impress me n make me wanna watch it, cuz i dun like alien kinda movie, too animated, nor no story based movie.. but due to the director and many ppl r giving good comment, moreover, KB was so wish to watch..

we watched 3D version. it was AWESOME!
nice 3D, (not like those old tradition green and red), it stands out the character or focused object, makes u feel like u r one of them and very good animation/production.. good casting and good acting, i like Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang.. good story telling, wit the editing instead of long dialogue, u can feel the heart of these aliens and the beauty of the planet, makes u understand n wana protect them..

according to KB, some ppl said the story is normal, but too me, it's simple yet, special..

Sepet

i love Yasmin Ahmad's commercial, it's inspiring and though provoking, everyone loves it, but tis movie Sepet, is the first movie i ever rate it "not pass", 2/5. i know it got many award, and the story is good but the edit and the acting except the 2 main roles spoiled the movie, how sad~

* shame on myself, watch tis after 3 years released

Accident

a very good movie, good story, good editing, nice color n probably good directing to make everything flowing smoothly..

a kind of story tat i never watch b4, special, and nice ending.. make me feel like it's like final destination but tis is an human make final destination, overall flow is very nice, almost perfect in terms of the silence, slowness, speechlessness, and climax, all tells the story..

as kb said, it's looks like Johnie To's movie, but he was half correct, it's Pou-Soi Cheang's movie, producer is Johnnie To.

as conclusion, an unexpected movie

* may b there're movies like tis but i nvr watch b4
** for those who doesn understand, then better watch again, if not, wasted, or else, dun watch.. =p
*** Rate: 4/5

Earth

tis is an awesome movie! it's a documentary type of movie, story of real life of animals struggling to survive, etc.. according to Michelle, they shot it for 2 years, from the footage, then only they make up a story of all tis creatures.. it's awesome is bcuz well shooting, very nice shots, can see how those nature around us been transformed due to the seasons n how tis diff creatures adapt and survive in their environment.. when i see their making, i was lagi impressed, shots in many diff type of camera, they risked their for the shots, thumb up! wat a sincere work they've done and the sound is nice, nice ambient captured and nice music and nice script/naration, i wonder if they've used disney cartoon music for tis movie for the shots of cub, ya, those cute little cub, very cute~~

Heroes

finally i have finished Heroes.. mm.. not completely finish, cuz there's new season, season 4 just came out..>_<.. i was really outdated tat i didn know anything bout Heroes as an editor.. -_- so my head encouraged me to watch more movies, as well as heroes..

heroes is a very nice movie, no regret watching it, nice story, nice vfx but editing.. mm.. ok la, it's good edit is bcuz of the story line, shld b thumb up to the director/producer - Tim Kring. i feel tat heroes is kinda christianity, ppl given ability is like christian who is given spiritual gift which used to serve God and His ppl.. ppl who doesn have ability involved in saving the world is considered saved the world, christians who do their part but not in leadership role is considered serving God, involving in God plan.. aha! interesting..

Heroes has company,
christian has God;
Heroes need to face death still,
christian gain life after death;
"save the cheerleader, save the world" says Heroes
"touching heaven, changing earth" says Hillsong

Our Life is More Curious

i watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button yesterday, it's kinda nice n sincere movie, "transforming" the character in a very detail way, tat's y it got best visual n best makeup award, it deserves it!

i'm not trying to describe how well is the movie here, but again, it gave me an inspiration.. tis movie mostly talk about death, someone is dead then the other one n so on.. n it keep mention tat "nothing is eternal" it's true in a circular way of seeing it, things wil expired or spoiled one day, living creature wil die on day..

but seeing it thru the eye of God, it's not, everything is alive in God.. bcuz God is eternal, His love is eternal, he gave us eternal life thru Jesus, we wil go to heaven when we die, so we shall put our hope in heaven,we gain wat we deserve in heaven, we wil meet our love one in heaven..

as we r afraid of when we wil die, or worry tat when our love one wil leave us one day, then is time to check where we put our hope, for wat reason when we were trying so hard for something..

lastly, back to the beginning, r we saved by believing the blood of Jesus Christ..

"For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done" Matt 16:27

"Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven.." Luke 6:23

CJ7

a very good movie, one of the great movie i ever watch in tis recent years, you'll know who directed tis movie when u watch tis movie, stephen chow dun act as stephen chow anymore but the kids r acting "stephen chow", they r awesome, very good in acting.
too bad the graphics/vfx and sound r not so good but story is super funny n touching, u cant find any other movie like tis.. unexpected stephen chow's type of dialogue, outdated/old joke but stil applied (问你死未), emphasize on the joke by lengthening the shot (back of Siew Dick n his admirer), zoom in the battery which is useless to dead cj7 n so on..
i think stephen chow's script combined wit hollywood vfx team sure come out great result.. "Dragon Ball"?

Secret

i love tis movie, nice and awesome story! nvr expect such good movie produced by Jay Chow, i really didn put much expectation on his movie.. but after watch it, mm.. it grabs my heart, tot it's just simple love story, how it start, how it flows and end as how a love story supposed to end.. indeed, it is a simple story but there's an impact at where he explain the story (if u cant understand the story then is hard to find out where's the impact), he twisted the flow and the time but instead, it helps to understand even clearer..

and more thing, i didn know jay chow can play piano so well!! haha.. oops!

Amadeus

i found my movie! -->> Amadeus
i was hunting it since i was in college, tat time my lecturer show tis movie during the lecture (forgotten which subject, i think music history?? =p) i like it bcuz of the story line, talk bout
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (i think so, i haven really finish watching it, tat's y i look for the dvd, i didn borrow from college n watch, may be i wanna collect it). it's funny (espeically Mozart's laugh, tat's crazy n annoying.. haha..) n it talks more than just music, sorry, i haven really watch it, write in the blog first, to share my joy.. haha..
it's hardly found in msia, i think can b easily found n get it in internet, i found it in spore HMV, it cost RM80++, for me tat time is expensive, so didn buy it, but thank God, i found in msia n cost RM39.90 only.. haha..

Directed by
: Milos Forman
Genres: Drama
Released
: September 19, 1984 (same age as me, haha..)
Writers:
Peter Shaffer (play), Peter Shaffer (screenplay)
Awards: Won 8 Oscars. Another 32 wins & 13 nominations

Plot:
The satirical sensibilities of writer Peter Shaffer and director Milos Forman (One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest) were ideally matched in this Oscar-winning movie adaptation of Shaffer's hit play about the rivalry between two composers in the court of Austrian Emperor Joseph II--official royal composer Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham), and the younger but superior prodigy
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce). The conceit is absolutely delicious: Salieri secretly loathes Mozart's crude and bratty personality, but is astounded by the beauty of his music. That's the heart of Salieri's torment--although he's in a unique position to recognize and cultivate both Mozart's talent and career, he's also consumed with envy and insecurity in the face of such genius. That such magnificent music should come from such a vulgar little creature strikes Salieri as one of God's cruelest jokes, and it drives him insane. Amadeus creates peculiar and delightful contrasts between the impeccably re-created details of its lavish period setting and the jarring (but humorously refreshing and unstuffy) modern tone of its dialogue and performances--all of which serve to remind us that these were people before they became enshrined in historical and artistic legend. Jeffrey Jones, best-known as Ferris Bueller's principal, is particularly wonderful as the bumbling emperor (with the voice of a modern midlevel businessman). The film's eight Oscars include statuettes for Best Director Forman, Best Actor Abraham (Hulce was also nominated), Best Screenplay, and Best Picture.

Transformer

now i understand y my fren said she feel like crying when she listen to good music, cuz i felt the same way....... when i watch Transformer!! oh~ the movie is great, usually i'll more focuz on the story when i watch movie, then only find out the visual efx/editing then sound but tis time, i cant just observe the story, the story is already good (thou i nvr really watch the cartoon), so i cant just bother the story anymore, i saw the cg is awesome, i'm so amazed! the way it transform is so real, it dun seems graphic to me, but it's a real robot..sorry to those pro animator or pro vfx editor, cuz i dunno how tis graphics can b done at all, so it's aweome to me.. n the sound design is good, done by who? for the story line, i feel a bit like christianity, "sacrifice oneself for others" haha..
i wanted to clap hand, shout out n watever, just to express out my feeling when i watch certain scene, but too bad there's no one do tat, i have to keep it..-_-#
i wonder is there anyone know where can i get the making of Transformer? i wanna see how they do it..

Spiderman 3

yesterday celebrate andrew's bday in TGIF (again), wat a great wan, haha.. stand on the table, giving speech, sing song n bla bla bla.. haha... he deserve it..

anyway, after the dinner we went n watch Spiderman 3 (earliest show at tat time), the story is so so only, a bit draggy, Spiderman 1&2 nice la..but the sound is so amazed, so detail, sound from the zoom in sand then zoom out, glass, explosion n other tiny tiny things, i can feel the impact of the visual effects, it was awesome! even the visual effect oso not bad, but some part stil can see it's 3D, not tat real (am i rite?=p i haven watch the making). how i wish i can do such movie... so unrealistic movie.. haha...

so tis movie is very subjective to ppl, if u just wanna watch the story then may b u dun feel it's nice nor worth it, but overall, tat's not bad..

Apocalypto

just watched tis movie - Apocalypto by Mel Gibson, it's very nice!

first of all, let me tell u my defination of a great movie (cuz diff ppl has diff defination of good, and my taste is always out.. haha): good story, good visual effects and editing, costume, sound and then lastly, it's a non-compromise movie. now days movies r meeting market, consumer's interest and business requirement, tat's y some movies have changed n modified the 'real life/story' or trying to minimise the violence (definately tis is rite, but i think if there's so much of restriction, then better not to do to keep it's original master piece) n nvr deny, i oso prefer watching commercial movie, cuz for me, wat for let my mind so stress to watch those serious movie when i wanna relax myself to enjoy a movie.. but once a while i'll watch tis kind of movie la, to see how professional director produce a great movie..

ok, let's talk bout tis movie, no famous / well known actor but very good actors n actress to bring out the story; it's kinda non-compromise movie (not at all due to some historical inaccuracies), i'll say althou it's very violent but tis is wat the story is all about. (thank God, i'm not staying in such ancient >_<) i admire Jaguar Paw (main role), his own will power caused by his love towards his family tat save him n his family. i think a person tat nvr give up n keep upholding his dream, he can overcome the problem n archive his dream, ofcuz another important key is opportunity which this is cant gained by ourself, but only God. like the leopard in the movie, it seems like another stumbling block to take Jaguar Paw's life but at the end, tis leopard helps to destroyed his enemy..

here goes the story:
-Apocalypto-
Opening quote: "A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within." — W. Durant
During a tapir hunt in the Mesoamerican jungle, Jaguar Paw (Rudy Youngblood), his father Flint Sky (Morris Birdyellowhead), and their fellow tribesmen encounter a procession of traumatized and fearful refugees. The procession's leader explains that their lands have been ravaged, and with Flint Sky's permission, the procession passes through the forest. When Jaguar Paw and his tribesmen return to their village, Flint Sky tells his son not to let the procession's fearful state seep into him. At night, the tribe's elder tells the village a fable of man dangerously never filling his want, despite having the capabilities of the world's animals. The villagers follow the story with music and dance, leaving Jaguar Paw to ponder.

The next morning, after Jaguar Paw wakes from a nightmare, he sees strangers enter the village, setting aflame homes with their torches. The raiders, led by Zero Wolf (Raoul Trujillo), attack the villagers and subdue as many as possible. Jaguar Paw slips out of the village with his pregnant wife Seven (Dalia Hernández) and his little son Turtles Run, lowering them on a vine into a small cave (a chultun, shaped something like a well)[9] to hide them. Jaguar Paw returns to his village to fight against the raiders, but he is subdued with the rest of his tribesmen. A raider whom Jaguar Paw attacked, the vicious Middle Eye (Gerardo Taracena), prepares to execute Flint Sky in front of his son. Flint Sky tells Jaguar Paw not to be afraid, and Middle Eye slits Flint Sky's throat.

Before the raiders leave the village with their prisoners, one suspicious raider severs the vine leading into the ground cave, trapping Jaguar Paw's wife and son within. The raiders and their captives trek toward a Mayan city, encountering failed maize crops and slaves producing plaster. They also pass a small girl with leprosy (alternatively congenital syphilis) who warns the raiders that their end is near. In the city's outskirts, the female villagers are sold as slaves, and the male villagers are escorted into the city to the top of a step pyramid. The high priest sacrifices several captives by pulling out their hearts and then decapitating them. When Jaguar Paw is on the altar to be sacrificed, a solar eclipse stays the priest's hand. The priest declares the sun god Kukulkan satisfied with the sacrifices, and he asks the sun god to restore light. The eclipse passes, and light returns to the world.

Zero Wolf, told to dispose of the captives by the priest, takes them to a ball field. Their captives are released in pairs to run the length of the field while the raiders target them with javelins, arrows, and stones. Jaguar Paw successfully reaches the field's end and though injured by an arrow, bypasses a raider "finisher", Zero Wolf's son, Cut Rock, by killing him. An enraged Zero Wolf pursues Jaguar Paw into the jungle with his fellow raiders. The chase leads back to the forest in which Jaguar Paw's village was located. As he flees, Jaguar Paw jumps over a high waterfall and survives. He declares from the riverbank below that the raiders are now in his territory.

Zero Wolf's raiders fall to both the forest's elements and Jaguar Paw's traps. A heavy rain sets in, which begins to flood the ground cave in which Jaguar Paw's wife and son are still trapped. Jaguar Paw defeats Middle Eye in hand-to-hand combat and kills Zero Wolf by setting off a trap meant for hunting tapir. He is chased by two remaining raiders out to a beach where they encounter conquistadors and missionaries making their way toward the shore in rowboats (the Spanish conquest of Yucatan actually started in 1519). The amazement of the raiders allows Jaguar Paw to flee. He returns into the forest to rescue his wife and son from the cave. He finds that his wife has given a submerged birth to a healthy second son, and the family is rescued. Jaguar Paw leads them deeper into the forest, leaving behind the conquistadors anchored in ships off the beach.
